Mobile Learning, a key area for CSEV

Connections

Mobile learning is a paradigm that is changing the way we learn forever. CSEV’s initiatives in this area include:

  • Use of virtual and remote laboratories from mobile devices.
  • Use of augmented avatars in context for theoretical explanations.
  • Cultural tourism routes and geolocation for out-of-the-classroom learning.
  • Reconstruction of objects in augmented reality for classroom learning.
  • Augmented reality game – based learning.
  • Creation of educational content through social and collaborative mobile applications.
  • Integration of mobile applications with open learning environments, in order to re-use the communication tools and existing content on those platforms.
  • Monitoring complex objects (cars, industrial machinery) from mobile devices.
  • Collaborative mobile games using geolocation or QR codes, inside and outside the classroom.
  • Use, discovery, and sharing of knowledge through P2P mobile learning objects.
  • Mobile application for studying small "knowledge pills" aimed at "stealth study”, i.e. daily and impulse studying on the bus, while waiting for the train…
  • Mobile Brain-Training.
  • Biometric identification (fingerprint, iris) for use in educational settings.
